The Conn. and NY trip

I timed my five hour drive leaving Baltimore last week to have enough time for the journey’s first stop at the Mattatuck Museum, CT before closing.

A small but comfortable three floor museum. Two rooms held permanent displays that focused on important trades in Waterbury’s history: buttons and photography.

While the older wooden box camera’s were of historical interest, the button display was the most prominent. Three thousand buttons to view in glass cases with another 17,000 in sets of cabinet drawers around the room. Also shown is few of several button making machines.
