Project: Intermission Post for Memorial Holiday Observance.
Title-“Brizard” by Craig L Haupt
While I have no artwork related to this Holiday Observance, I post a very simple color pencil and watercolor image.
These weekly Posts are also seen by followers from outside the borders of the United States and while today is our national holiday here in the United States for those fallen in past and present wars, I wish to extend a heartfelt thank you to all those, both here and around the world, who have given their lives in the struggle against oppression and tyranny.
I will continue the 12 + 12, 12 x 12’s Art Project Monday, June 6.

“The House That Jack Built”
Week 30-Holiday Intermission
It is my intent, with the Holidays and illness behind me, that next week I will post the “in-progress” center section with “Jack”. Until then I offer this last “Holiday Intermission”.
This weeks’ posted image, is another very simple drawing. In 2005, after a several year pause, I found a number of ‘doodles’ in my sketch books that renewed my interest and during a flurry of activity, from 2005 to 2008, some of these completed images were extremely simple in line and color. This renewed interest didn’t end with 2008, but I then settled in and resolved that I would no longer allow any extended pauses to interrupt my inherent need to continue creating art.
Entitled “Singer on a Stick”, this 8” x 10”, Color Pencil and Watercolor on paper, was finished July, 2006.

Week 25-”Rain” Delay intermission.
To be completely honest, I am not ready to post the “Fourth Corner” of “The House That Jack Built”. Still being worked on and just not progressed enough that I would be satisfied with putting it out there for you to see.
I am still working on it now as this is posted and feel that it will be ready to post tomorrow, Tuesday.
As I continue work with detail in the fourth corner area of the painting “The House That Jack Built” I will post a past Art image.
My apologies.
To reflect my mood at not posting the Fourth Corner, I will post a Pen & Ink/Color Pencil/Watercolor drawing entitled “Wire Mustache” completed July, 2007.

Week 24-Intermission
As I work with detail in the fourth corner area of the painting “The House That Jack Built” I am posting a past Art image as an “Intermission”.
For this intermission, the above Pen & Ink/Watercolor drawing entitled “Butterflies and Guitars’ ” was completed September, 2005.
As I work on “The House That Jack Built” painting, I also have 3 other paintings in different stages of completion. One of these in-progress paintings is a larger scale remake of this 8” x 8” 2005 drawing.

The new computer has had a few issues and they chose to occur on last weeks day of Posting. While not an unsurmountable problem, I was cut off from the internet last Monday and Tuesday till it was finally resolved.
As I work with detail in the third corner area of the painting “The House That Jack Built” I am posting a past Art image as an “Intermission”.
For this intermission, the above Color Pencil/Watercolor drawing is entitled “Curved Arms”. Still unframed and resting in the portfolio, this very simple line drawing was completed in July, 2006.

Week 14-Intermission
The painting of “The House That Jack Built” has been started.
I have made the purchase of a camera to allow me the flexibility to record the progress of the painting. Still extend a ton of thanks to Laura and Mac for taking the “suggestions added” pictures at the four corner postings.
If I can’t figure out all the buttons/menu’s needed to navigate my way to taking first pictures of the painting in-progress I still might ask for their assistance again.
So, this painting, as I continue to prep the layout, will take several weeks to complete. The plan (as of now) is to Post another intermission art image tonight, then Post progress images of “The House That Jack Built”.
For this intermission, the above Color-pencil/Watercolor drawing is entitled “Denial”. This drawing was completed in October, 2006. One of my favorites.

Week 12-Intermission
A “Thank You” to all those that submitted suggestions of items to be included in the “Fourth” and final corner” of “The House That Jack Built” project.
As I have listed in the schedule, I am posting a past Art image, as an “Intermission” while I am selecting items to be used and applying them to the Fourth Corner Pen & Ink drawing. This intermission I decided treat myself to a “now in season” peach pastry from the neighborhood bakery and another cup of tea.
The above Pen & Ink/Color-pencil drawing is entitled “Thick Hair”. This drawing was completed in September 2006. Various colors of the color-pencils were applied to the head in layers to achieve a marbling effect.
