Also another ‘Fictitious Letter’ with Fictitious question from a Fictitious person.

Ending credits music by long time friend Lee Steelwright recorded on location with his first attempts on newly acquired bongos. YouTube: Craig L Haupt

Episode 14: Not just new computer but switched from the Hitfilm Express Editing App. to the DaVinci Resolve 17 editing app. Similar but with upgraded features and new bells and whistles still quite a learning curve. This episode features two more paintings of the 48 primary paintings, #3 & #4, included in the in-progress design of my second ArtStory book. The goal is to play catch-up as to align the Video Episodes postings of the 48 paintings to match my social media platform (FaceBook, Blog, etc.) postings.

Also included in this Episode is another ’fictitious Letter’. A fictitious letter from a fictitious person with a fictitious question. The introduction of the ‘fictitious Letter’ aspect will also give me a chance to integrate my artistic history/autobiography into the episodes. The ‘Fictitious Letters’ chronicle my history of becoming an artist. Ep. 13’s Fictitious Letter highlighted my beginnings at age 7. Ep. 14 Highlights age 8 to 13.

Overall view of the “24 Album Cover” book Episode series project is Highlighting the artistic design, writing stories, creating art images, computer applications including InDesign & Photoshop, layout for conversion to PDF, and a crowdfunding campaign to convert the self-published ArtStory project to printed form. The ArtStory book will feature 48 full color images, 77 supporting images, and 24 short story/vignettes within a 9.5 x 9.5, 100 plus page self-published book.

Designing an Artbook, Ep. 13

With a New Year and a new upgraded computer, it was time to make adjustments to the Video Episodes.

This episode features the first two paintings of the 48 primary paintings included in the in-progress design of my second ArtStroy book. The goal is to play catch-up as to align the Video Episodes postings of the 48 paintings to match my social media platform (FaceBook, Blog, etc.) postings. Also included in this Episode is a ’fictitious Letter’. Since I have posted 12 episodes I have received few comments and no questions about the designing an Artbook content. Because my previous ArtStory book and recent online art projects have included various levels of audience participation I would like the videos to have that element of involvement also. With no audience questions to date, I decided to create my own questions in the form of a ’fictitious Letter’. The introduction of the ‘fictitious Letter’ aspect will also give me a chance to integrate my artistic history/autobiography into the episodes.

The video ArtStory book episodes continue to feature guest musicians that have contributed music tracks for the episode ending credits

How to Design an Artbook, Episode 12

A belated Happy New Year!

With Episode 12 filmed and edited during the last week of 2020, all that remained was exporting the video for a YouTube format. Alas, computer issues in the form of an older computer that didn’t have the ‘memory’ capacity to complete the exporting portion of the video. Thus began a 6 week adventure of how to address the ’GPU memory’ problem.

A new computer of specific Processor and Graphic Card specifications was the end result but even obtaining that was not an easy road given the demand for computers and computer parts during this ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Since the filming was completed I decided to keep the initial video intact but with a newly inserted prologue introduction of the belated Happy New Year video. With the Holiday greeting, this Episode highlights the completion of the first two ‘in-progress’ paintings discussed over the past few episodes with a view of both from start to finish.

Overall view of the “24 Album Cover” book Episode series project is Highlighting the artistic design, writing stories, creating art images, computer applications including InDesign & Photoshop, layout for conversion to PDF, and a crowdfunding campaign to convert the self-published ArtStory project to printed form.

The ArtStory book will feature 48 full color images, 77 supporting images (of which include these 5), and 24 short story/vignettes within a 9.5 x 9.5, 100 plus page self-published book.

The future Kickstarter Crowdfunding Campaign to fund the digital scanning and printing costs will afford the viewing audience the opportunity to have their name included within the text of the 24 short story/vignettes and in the Acknowledgement section of the ArtStory book as well as being able to own the book itself.

“24 Album Covers” Second Episode

Hello everyone,
I have uploaded ‘Episode Two’ to YouTube concerning the second ArtStory book I am in the process of creating and will also be offered through Kickstarter in 2021.
This series of video’s will show viewers how the book “24 Album Covers” was conceived and all the-in-progress steps involved from conception to layout, designs, writing, parts of a book, in progress paintings, the video filming and editing, the learning process of InDesign and Photoshop, the digital scanning, transfer to a PDF file, the printing of the book, and of course the building of the Kickstarter Crowdfunding campaign.
I hope to also film interviews with various persons directly involved with the workings on different facets of the book.
I will use these updates to keep you informed of the “24 Album Covers” ArtStory book episodes as they are filmed and posted to YouTube as well as the future Kickstarter campaign dates.
I hope that you take the 10 minutes of the video run-time to view and if you haven’t please subscribe to the my YouTube channel.
Thank you and be safe in these still stressful times
Craig

The Second ArtStory Book, Episode One

I posted an image and text concerning the creation and posting of a ‘Link’ to my first YouTube episode on Sept. 3, 2020.

I have upgraded my WordPress plan so that I am now able to post ‘video’s’. Given the upgrade I would like to post that First Episode here on WordPress. That way when I do post the next episodes they will be in sequence and correspond with the YouTube channel postings.

I also noticed that with the upgraded WordPress plan that the ‘Link’ I posted Sept. 3, 2020 now plays the video as well as making any other adjustments that are included in the upgrade.

Thank you,

Craig

The Second ArtStory Book in the Making-2

Over the past several months I have been researching the concept and possibility of a second ArtStory book. It has now entered the stage where it has become a viable project. As part of the promotional aspects I am creating a series of YouTube videos to let viewers see the process of creating my second ArtStory book, “24 Album Covers”.

I uploaded the first video yesterday, “Episode One, Second Book Beginnings”.

The video project will highlight the progress of creating a self-published ArtStory book from beginnings to launching a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign to working with the printer for publication.  At YouTube just type in Craig L Haupt.

The first few video’s will be uploaded about three weeks apart while I work with the learning curve of writing scripts, filming, relaxing in front of the camera, lighting, and film editing process besides working on the book text and design itself. With time and experience I hope to figure out a one or two week posting schedule as I solidify a second Kickstarter campaign during the spring of 2021.

They do not list the names of subscribers or viewers so there is a sense of confidentially. Only comments would give any recognition.

Below is the YouTube link if you would prefer to copy and paste to the YouTube search box.

Thank you,
